As of November 6, allegedly over 10,000 civilians, a number which includes 4,100 children, have been killed in Gaza as a result of Israeli bombing and the United Nations has declared that Gaza is becoming a graveyard for children. On the West Bank, Palestinian land illegally occupied, Israel’s terrorist settlers are killing Palestinians and evicting them from their homes. All the while, Israel claims with a straight face that it is only defending itself, as the killing continues unabated in Gaza and in the West Bank. We have to assume that by killing Palestinian children today Israel’s aim is to reduce the number of future Palestinian adults who could become enemies of Israel!

How is it that killing hundreds with AR-15s is called terrorism and an abomination but dropping bombs and killing thousands is more acceptable and called defending one’s people?

Yes, Israel has the right to defend itself after the terrorist massacre of October 7, but not to retaliate by carrying out a genocide and crimes against humanity. And yes, Palestinians have the right to get their land back and to live in peace in their homes but not to kill Israeli settlers. Both sides have rights, not just one side.

Who are the supporters of Israel’s one-sided rights? First and foremost, Israel itself. There is a long list of others — countries, organizations…
