Should the ICC Change its Name to the CCC?

The judges of the International Criminal Court have been unusually reluctant to issue arrest warrants requested on May 20 by the Court’s Chief Prosecutor, Karim Khan, for three Israelis (including Netanyahu) and three Hamas leaders (including Yahya Sinwar). Khan has been waiting and waiting!

So on September 10 he issued an urgent request that says “warrants needed due to ‘ongoing criminality,’ and ‘worsening situation in Palestine.”

The delay in issuing the warrants appears to be due to political pressure on the judges and on the Court from the United States (a non-signatory to the statutes creating the Court) and European members of the ICC.

If the ICC does not act immediately, it should appropriately change its name to CCC — the Colonialist’s Criminal Court.

Decide who you are, be transparent and act!
