Blind Support for Israel Will Destroy the America We Know

And Further Weaken a Struggling United Nations

The United States supports Israel with arms, money and diplomatic cover. Seldom a word of criticism let alone serious arm twisting to change Israeli policies, even when it comes to dropping our 2,000 pound bombs on innocent Palestinian women and children. Our media protects Israel and Zionists with reporting that is designed not to inform, but to misinform, Americans — detailed emotional coverage of the death of a single Israeli and only a passing mention of the thousands of children massacred by indiscriminate Israeli bombardment with a death toll of 18,000 in Gaza and a number approaching 1,000 estimated in the West Bank. The message is that killing thousands of women and children with bombs is somehow better that killing 1,200 with guns and knives! All killing is bad.

The Israeli propaganda mission has gathered a full head of steam with exaggerations and lies, with high-profile Jewish academics attacking all those who criticize Israeli policies, corporate America joining in defense of Israel and the media and Hollywood trumpeting Jewish suffering at the hands of the Nazis and the horrific Hamas attack of October 7. This past week, the State Department went so far as to bypass the U.S. Congress to facilitate and push the sale of tank munitions to Israel. Biden is seeking billions of dollars in additional military aid for Israel’s war in Gaza as Israel violates America’s rules for arming foreign nations — that no weapons transfers to take place when the U.S. concludes that violations of international law are “more likely than not” to occur. Most egregious, the United States vetoed a UN Security Council resolution for a ceasefire on December 9 with a vote of 13 for, one abstention (Great Britain) and the hammer, the U.S. veto. The U.S. is standing alone against the world and in the process is undermining and weakening the United Nations — the entity that is our best hope for a peaceful world albeit hampered by the United States. In the long run such blind support will destroy what is great about America — democratic values, free speech and support for the disadvantaged around the world — and the fallout will hurt Jews the world over, yes Israel too, and global security arrangements such as the United Nations.

In the United States, it has become dangerous to even criticize Zionists, Israel and Israel’s conduct of the war with Hamas. Even some observation of the facts…
